Today in Ukraine was spent in a mode of high combat readiness and liquidation of the consequences of the next combined air attacks of the enemy on civilian and critical infrastructure. Heavy fighting continues along the entire front line, where the Defense Forces are holding back the onslaught of the occupation troops, while simultaneously delivering high-precision strikes on the enemy’s rear logistics and energy facilities in the temporarily occupied territories. As reported by the information portal 34.ua , the Ukrainian civil defense, energy and military services are working in a coordinated mode to protect the population and restore damaged facilities.
News 1: Repelling a massive air attack and the situation on the contact line
On the night of July 26, Russian troops launched a massive strike using ballistic missiles, guided aerial bombs (GABs) and strike drones on a number of regions of Ukraine, in particular Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia and Kryvyi Rih. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over 250 combat clashes were recorded on the front during the day, with the greatest enemy activity observed in the Pokrovsky and Lymansky directions. Air defense units destroyed most of the air targets, however, as a result of falling debris and direct hits, damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure was recorded in several regions.
Expert opinion (Military observer and analyst Oleksiy Getman): “The enemy continues to use the tactics of wave combined attacks, trying to exhaust air defense systems before engaging ballistics. However, the high efficiency of mobile fire groups and modern anti-aircraft missile systems allows us to shoot down the lion’s share of enemy weapons on the approaches to critical objects.”
News 2: Defense Forces strikes on occupiers’ facilities in Crimea and the East
The Ukrainian military continues its methodical work to destroy the logistical and energy potential of the invaders. On the night of July 26, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully struck the facilities of Chornomornaftogaz in the temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as a drone control repeater. In addition, explosions and a fire were recorded in the area of the Tavria TPP near Simferopol. The destruction of these strategic points significantly complicates the coordination and support of the Russian group of troops in the southern direction.
Expert opinion (International Security Expert Mykhailo Samus): “The systematic destruction of the enemy’s energy and logistics infrastructure in Crimea creates a cumulative effect. Without stable power supply and naval support, the occupation group loses operational mobility and the ability to effectively support its offensive actions.”
News 3: Diplomatic activity and strengthening the protection of Ukrainian skies
In his address, the President of Ukraine summed up the results of the week-long counteraction to air terror, noting that over the past seven days the enemy has launched almost 1,700 strike drones, over 1,630 aerial bombs and 95 missiles of various types over Ukraine. Against this background, negotiations with partners have intensified on additional supplies of air defense/missile defense systems, ammunition for them and expansion of the capabilities of the coalition aviation component. At the same time, increased readiness has been recorded in neighboring NATO countries: in particular, Romanian F-16 fighters again intercepted Russian drones approaching the Alliance’s borders.
Expert opinion (Political scientist and international expert Volodymyr Fesenko): “The passage of Russian drones and missiles into the airspace of NATO countries confirms that the security of Ukraine is directly related to the security of all of Eastern Europe. This accelerates the adoption of decisions on joint actions to shoot down air targets in border areas.”
