Friday, August 7, 2026 (the 1626th day of full-scale resistance), began for Ukraine with the repulsion of another night attack by enemy drones and aerial bombs on the frontline and coastal regions. Civilian facilities in Sumy, Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions came under enemy attack. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hold defense lines in the eastern and southern directions, inflicting systematic losses in equipment and manpower on the occupation forces. As reported by [34.ua], air defense forces and emergency services continue to work around the clock to protect the safety of citizens.

News 1: Night drone strikes in Sumy, Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions

On the night of August 7, the Russian occupiers launched another series of strikes on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. In the Bilopol community of Sumy region, a hostile UAV attacked civilians in a market, injuring 10 people. In Sumy, residential buildings and transport were damaged by strikes by KABs and drones, and two people were injured. In the Odessa region, a 16-year-old boy was injured by shrapnel as a result of shelling of the Izmail district. In addition, more than 20 attacks by drones and artillery were recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region; air defense forces shot down 19 hostile UAVs over the region.

Expert opinion (Military analyst Dmytro Snegirev): “The targeted targeting of UAVs at markets, civilian infrastructure, and post offices in front-line regions is a continuation of the tactic of psychological and economic pressure on the population. The key countermeasure remains the expansion of mobile fire groups and compact electronic warfare equipment directly in communities.”

News 2: Updated data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and digital negotiations regarding Starlink

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of August 7, 233 combat clashes took place on the frontline in the past 24 hours. The losses of the occupiers increased by 1,210 people per day, 67 artillery systems and 1,589 operational-tactical UAVs were also neutralized. At the same time, in the digital sector, the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Ukraine continues negotiations with the SpaceX team on expanding the possibilities of using the Starlink satellite network to increase security and protect Ukrainian infrastructure.

Expert opinion (Military and political observer Oleksandr Kovalenko): “The consistently high rates of enemy artillery and drone losses confirm the effectiveness of our counter-battery combat and the use of interceptor drones. The expansion of modern communication technologies is critical for the coordination of forces on the front line.”
