The information picture of today in Ukraine demonstrates a significant escalation of air confrontation and the enemy’s attempts to exhaust the domestic air defense system to the maximum with combined means of attack. The regions of Ukraine have been subjected to combined strikes: from ballistic missiles in the capital to the massive use of strike drones, in particular new jet modifications. At the same time, the Defense Forces are inflicting painful asymmetric blows on the aggressor’s export logistics. As reported by the information portal 34.ua , the state continues to balance between repelling massive attacks on critical infrastructure and ensuring the stable functioning of rear and front-line regions.
News 1: Night ballistic missile strike on Kyiv and UAV attack on regions
On the night of July 11, Russian troops launched a massive strike on Ukraine, using a total of 133 air attack vehicles. Among them were ballistic and guided aircraft missiles, as well as 121 attack drones. Air defense forces destroyed or suppressed 2 Kh-59/69 missiles and 111 enemy UAVs at 11 locations. The capital was suddenly hit by ballistic missiles – explosions sounded before the alarm was sounded. Destruction of civilian non-residential and residential infrastructure was recorded in at least four districts of Kyiv (Svyatoshynskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi), 8 people are known to have been injured. The enemy also attacked Sumy and Chernihiv regions, in particular Nizhyn, using high-speed jet UAVs.
Expert opinion (Military tactical analyst): “The use of ballistic weapons in the capital without prior deployment of strategic aviation indicates an attempt by the enemy to use the surprise factor to hit control points or air defense facilities. The large-scale presence of reactive modifications of the “Shaheds” in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions significantly reduces the reaction time of our mobile fire groups. This confirms the trend towards technological complication of air terror means, which requires an immediate transition to automated anti-aircraft systems of short range.”
News 2: Massive shelling of Odessa and strike on Kharkiv
This afternoon, the Russian army carried out another brutal shelling of civilian infrastructure in other major cities of Ukraine. In Odessa, a civilian infrastructure facility was hit, resulting in deaths and injuries. At the same time, in Kharkiv, an enemy drone hit the territory of a civilian enterprise, where injuries were also recorded among employees. Russia is intensifying missile terror in frontline and coastal zones by moving launchers closer to the border and front line.
Expert opinion (National Security Analyst): “Targeted strikes on Odessa and Kharkiv have a clear economic and psychological implication. The destruction of civilian facilities in Odessa is aimed at disrupting the remnants of export-import activity, and strikes on Kharkiv enterprises are a systematic squeezing of industrial and working capital from the city. The approach of the aggressor’s launch complexes to the contact line reduces the flight time of missiles to a matter of minutes, turning passive defense into a critically difficult task.”
News 3: Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned systems forces paralyzed three Russian ports on the Sea of Azov
As a result of a successful and large-scale night attack organized by the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, about 20 Russian tankers were hit. After this operation, three major Russian ports on the Sea of Azov officially stopped receiving and shipping agricultural products and grain. The Russian side is currently trying to eliminate the consequences of the escalation in the water area, and the enemy’s internal logistics export chains have suffered serious losses.
Expert opinion (Economic analyst): “The destruction of the tanker fleet and the shutdown of the aggressor’s three key Azov ports is a colossal blow to Russia’s domestic and foreign trade. Restricting the ability to ship agricultural products will lead to the disruption of international contracts and, as a result, a significant decrease in foreign exchange revenues to the Russian budget. Ukraine convincingly demonstrates the ability to wage effective asymmetric warfare at sea using unmanned technologies.”
News 4: Heavy airstrikes on Donetsk region: tragedy in Bilenkoe and Kramatorsk
During the day, Russian aviation carried out massive strikes with guided aerial bombs (CAB) on settlements in the Donetsk region. 188 civilian objects were destroyed, including 145 residential buildings. The heaviest blow fell on the village of Bilenke, where the Russians dropped six aerial bombs: 5 people were killed, including a 14-year-old child. In Kramatorsk, 13 attacks were recorded, seven residents were injured, apartment buildings, gas stations and service stations were damaged. Sloviansk and Shabelkivka were also hit by CABs, where there were also casualties.
Expert opinion (War crimes monitoring specialist and sociologist): “The massive use of KABs in residential areas of the Donetsk region is a deliberate act of scorched earth. The enemy’s goal is the total destruction of living space in order to make any functioning of urban agglomerations, such as Kramatorsk or Sloviansk, impossible. In addition to a humanitarian catastrophe, this provokes a new wave of internal migration and a colossal psycho-emotional burden on the population, which is forced to survive under constant artillery and bomb pressure.”
ANALYTICS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RESIDENTS
Analysis of the current situation indicates that Ukraine has entered a phase of maximum intensification of air risks . The enemy combines ballistics with jet UAVs, trying to bypass radar warning systems. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s successful actions at sea provoke the enemy to intensify terror against the civilian population in rear cities.
Practical recommendations:
For businesses and residents: There have been cases of ballistic missile strikes before air raid sirens went off (as happened in the capital last night). Businesses need to review their instructions: if there are any suspicious sounds or instant notifications in mobile apps, staff and customers should immediately go to shelters.
For passengers and utilities: Due to damage to civilian infrastructure and gas stations in frontline cities and the capital, local disruptions to public transport or supply of resources are possible. Check utility service schedules before leaving home.
Billing issues: The country’s utility companies are working under extreme conditions to deal with the aftermath of the attacks. Timely payment of bills for gas, water, and electricity is a direct support for repair crews restoring damaged networks.
A call to safety: the emergence of jet drones and the use of ballistics leave no time for reflection. Ignoring air alerts today is deadly. If you see an alert, head to a safe place.
