The beginning of a new week, July 13 (the 1601st day of full-scale Ukrainian resistance), brought another serious security test for the entire country. After fierce Sunday shelling of the south and east, on Monday night the enemy launched an unprecedented drone attack and targeted missile strikes. The transport and civil infrastructure of Odessa, as well as the residential sector of Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions, were the most affected. As reported by the information portal 34.ua , the Defense Forces are holding their positions under fierce pressure at the front, and the state is intensifying international negotiations on the immediate strengthening of air defense.
News 1: Night air terror: air defense shot down dozens of targets, there is destruction and casualties in Zaporizhia and Odessa
On the night of July 13, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded the enemy launching a record number of weapons of destruction – a total of 134 strike drones of various modifications (including high-speed jet drones) and 3 Kh-59/69 guided aircraft missiles. Combat operations continued all night in most regions.
In Odessa, Russian troops launched a missile strike on transport infrastructure in the morning – a local car park caught fire, passenger buses and a building of a coastal sanatorium were damaged. In addition, during the night battle, one of the enemy drones flew into Moldovan airspace and exploded near the village of Kopanca.
In Zaporizhia, after the evening arrival of UAVs and KABs, a residential building caught fire. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service unblocked the bodies of two deceased people while sorting through the rubble. Another 11 residents were injured, including a 15-year-old teenager – he is in serious condition in the hospital.
In the Chernihiv region, about 70 thousand subscribers were left without electricity due to massive strikes on linear networks, and emergency work is ongoing.
Expert opinion (Military Tactical Analyst): “The launch of over 130 drones in one night in combination with low-flying Kh-59/69 missiles is an attempt to overload and exhaust mobile fire groups. The directions of strikes on the logistics hubs of Odessa and residential areas of Zaporizhia demonstrate that the enemy is trying to paralyze front-line civilian life. The UAV’s flight into the territory of Moldova once again emphasizes that this terror is a direct threat to the regional security of all of Eastern Europe.”
News 2: Situation at the front: record 260 clashes and critical pressure in the Pokrov direction
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has published an operational report from the front line. The intensity of hostilities has reached an extreme peak – almost 260 clashes were recorded per day along the entire front line. The most difficult point remains the Pokrovsky direction, where the Defense Forces repelled 26 massive assaults. The occupiers are throwing significant forces to advance in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Hryshyne, Udachne, Kotlyne and towards Novy Shakhovye. At the same time, the enemy’s losses per day are colossal – about 1,600 occupiers have been eliminated, 58 artillery systems and more than 1,700 drones of various types of operational-tactical level have been destroyed.
Expert opinion (Military Observer): “The Pokrovskaya salient remains the main vector of the Russian offensive. The enemy is trying to cut off the key logistical supply routes of our Donetsk group. The fact that Ukrainian soldiers withstand more than 250 assaults per day demonstrates superhuman resilience, but immediate parity in artillery and electronic warfare means is needed to maintain the defense lines.”
News 3: Zelenskyy announced new negotiations on air defense, and pilots received F-16 simulators
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, after another difficult night, announced a series of urgent meetings and diplomatic talks with Western partners to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian cities and communities. In parallel, positive news came from the defense sector: Ukraine officially received a new batch of F-16 mobile simulators . Modern complexes will allow training and adaptation of a larger number of Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel directly within the country, accelerating the introduction of Western fighters into combat duty.
ANALYTICS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RESIDENTS
Ukraine begins the week under maximum military and infrastructure pressure . The enemy is attacking civilian and transport logistics, which requires the population to fully mobilize internal resources and comply with security rules.
Practical recommendations:
Instant evacuation during alarms: the tragedies in Zaporizhia and Odessa confirm that modern high-speed UAVs and missiles strike civilian objects without delay. At the first siren signals, immediately leave open spaces, workplaces and shopping malls, heading to capital shelters or using the two-wall rule.
Energy and utility discipline: power outages to tens of thousands of consumers in the north and attacks on infrastructure are increasing the load on the national power grid. Timely payment for utility services (electricity, water, gas) is a financial weapon for the rear, which allows DTEK and Ukrenergo repairmen to quickly purchase equipment to eliminate the consequences of the arrivals.
Information hygiene (Ban on filming): it is strictly forbidden to publish footage of burning buses in Odessa, a destroyed house in Zaporizhia, or the positions of our anti-aircraft gunners. Any video on social media is instantly used by the enemy to adjust the next waves of attacks.
Digital vigilance in frontline areas: residents of the Pokrovsky region, Donetsk region, and surrounding areas should be extremely careful in local chats. Monitor suspicious accounts that try to find out about the condition of roads, bridges, or the consequences of shelling, and promptly block them by reporting them to the “Enemy” chatbot.
