The gothic film “Frankenstein” directed by Guillermo del Toro also showed a noticeable result at the ceremony. The film received several awards in technical nominations, in particular for costume design, makeup and art direction. Critics noted the high level of the visual component of the picture, which became one of the most striking examples of modern auteur cinema.
Other award winners included actors who won awards for leading and supporting roles, as well as authors of documentaries and international films. The best documentary went to “Mr. Nobody Against Putin,” which tells the story of exposing propaganda in the Russian education system. The Norwegian film “Sentimental Value” won in the international film category.
The ceremony traditionally took place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and brought together the most famous representatives of the world film industry. Experts note that the 2026 award was marked by strong competition between major film projects, but it was “One Battle After Another” that was able to become the undisputed favorite of the Academy.
