Новини України 24 липня 2026: відбиття масованої повітряної атаки, висока інтенсивність боїв на фронті та історичний успіх ВМС

Today in Ukraine was marked by another confrontation in the airspace, a tense situation along the entire front line and a significant step in the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Ukrainian army. According to the Air Force and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian air defense neutralized the vast majority of almost two hundred enemy missiles and drones launched, and the Defense Forces continue to restrain the high assault rate of the enemy. At the same time, important news comes from the defense sector regarding the increase in the operational interoperability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with NATO military standards. As reported by the information portal 34.ua , the security and military-political situation in the country remains stably manageable.

News 1: Repelling a massive air strike and the work of air defense

On the night and morning of July 24, Russian troops launched another massive strike on the territory of Ukraine, launching 5 guided and ballistic missiles (including Kh-59/69) and 180 strike UAVs of various types. The main strikes were directed at civilian and port infrastructure facilities, in particular in Odessa and Kyiv. Air defense forces eliminated 4 missiles and more than 160 enemy drones. As a result of blast waves and falling debris, damage to civilian facilities was recorded in several areas.

Expert opinion (Military tactical analyst Valeriy Koval): “The combination of ballistic and guided aircraft missiles with the massive launch of drones is an attempt by the enemy to break through the defensive dome around large cities and critical logistics hubs. However, the interception rate of over 85–90% of air targets confirms the high level of coordination between radio engineering troops, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units.”

News 2: Situation on the contact line and the formation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 233 combat clashes were recorded on the front over the past 24 hours. The enemy’s greatest assault activity is observed in the eastern and southern directions. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct active defense and counter-battery combat. Over the past 24 hours, the occupants’ losses amounted to 1,410 personnel, 10 tanks, 76 artillery systems and one aircraft.

Expert opinion (Military analyst Dmytro Snegirev): “The destruction of more than seven dozen enemy artillery systems and aircraft in one day is a significant result of counter-battery work and the use of high-precision strike systems. Depleting the enemy’s fire potential remains a key task of the Defense Forces to disrupt the offensive plans of the occupiers in hot areas of the front.”

News 3: Historic success of the Ukrainian Navy in NATO standards

On July 24, it became known that for the first time in history, a unit of the Ukrainian Navy has received the right to lead the Alliance’s mine countermeasures forces. The headquarters of the 1st Division of Mine Countermeasures Ships of the Ukrainian Navy successfully passed the second level assessment (Nato NEL-2) during the Sea Breeze 2026 exercises and received the status of “Fully Mission Capable”. This officially allows the Ukrainian command to lead NATO multinational formations.

Expert opinion (Specialist in National Security and International Relations Andriy Savchenko): “This decision is a factual confirmation of the high level of professionalism of Ukrainian sailors and their full integration into NATO defense structures. The experience gained by the Ukrainian Navy during the defense of the Black Sea region makes our contribution to overall European security fundamental.”

ANALYTICS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CITIZENS

An analysis of the security and operational situation in Ukraine as of July 24, 2026 confirms the need to maintain a high level of personal and information security.

Practical recommendations for the population:

Security mode: respond to all airstrikes, especially in the event of a ballistic or UAV threat. Do not leave cover until the official curfew.

Information silence: do not film or publish on the Internet the operation of air defense systems, the consequences of hits, or the movement of military equipment.

Economic and volunteer support: maintaining the country’s financial stability and systematic donations to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are the key to providing the military with the necessary means of detection and destruction at the front.
