Ukraine is experiencing its 1,583rd day of full-scale resistance to Russian aggression. This Thursday began with the repelling of another combined drone and ballistic attack on peaceful cities, while Ukrainian forces delivered a powerful response to the enemy’s energy and military facilities in the occupied territories and inside the Russian Federation. The situation at the front remains under control, although the occupiers continue to exert pressure in several strategic directions.
1. Russian air attack: 83 targets out of 91 shot down, Sumy and Kherson under attack
On the night of June 25, Russian troops launched a massive strike on the territory of Ukraine. According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy launched 90 strike drones of various types and one Iskander-M ballistic missile . Air defense forces managed to destroy 83 enemy targets.
The main drone strike fell on Sumy and the Kherson region. In Sumy, at around 06:00, a UAV hit a civilian gas station (gas station) in the Zarichny district of the city, and another one hit a private sector on the outskirts. The attack on the gas station injured four people (two employees were hospitalized), and damaged cars. In Kherson, another cynical strike on the building of a local hospital was recorded.
Expert’s comment:
“The enemy continues the tactic of exhausting our air defense through massive raids of “cheap” drones, trying to simultaneously strike fuel and civilian infrastructure facilities (such as a gas station in Sumy or a hospital in Kherson). The hit rate of over 91% demonstrates the high efficiency of mobile fire groups and electronic warfare complexes, but ballistic threats still require strengthening of Patriot and SAMP/T.”
2. Strike back: The longest night for Crimea and the attack on an oil depot in Krasnodar Krai
On the night of June 25, the temporarily occupied Crimea was subjected to one of the largest attacks by Ukrainian drones. Explosions were heard from all sides of the peninsula: in Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yalta, Armyansk and Yevpatoria. The main target was energy infrastructure facilities, in particular, facilities near the Tavria TPP were probably hit. As a result, the occupation authorities were forced to urgently turn off the lights in Sevastopol and Yalta without schedules or warnings.
At the same time, in the Russian city of Ufa, flights were recorded at a local oil refinery (refinery), and in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation, a large-scale fire broke out at an oil depot – fuel tanks are burning.
Expert’s comment:
“Systematic attacks on the logistics and energy of Crimea are part of a clear plan that President Zelensky mentioned the day before. The power outage of the peninsula and the disruption of oil product transshipment hubs significantly undermine the military logistics of the Black Sea Fleet and the Russian military grouping in southern Ukraine.”
3. Situation at the front: The most difficult in the Pokrovsky, Slavyansky and Konstantinovsky directions
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that a significant number of clashes have occurred over the past 24 hours. The enemy dropped 262 guided aerial bombs (CABs) and over 10,000 kamikaze drones on the positions of our troops and settlements.
Pokrovsky direction: remains the hottest spot — the Defense Forces stopped 32 assault actions of the aggressor in the areas of Sukhetske, Udachny, and Rodynsky.
Sloviansk and Kostyantynivka directions: the enemy conducted 19 assaults on each, trying to break through the defenses near Rai-Oleksandrivka and Ivano-Pilly. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled all attacks and cleared the vicinity of Kostyantynivka.
The total enemy losses per day amounted to another 1,270 occupiers , and the total number of Russian personnel losses approached the mark of 1,397,000 people.
Other important news of the day in brief
Evacuation in Chernihiv region: due to the constant intensification of cross-border shelling and the activity of Russian DRGs, the authorities announced the mandatory evacuation of civilians from 12 border settlements in Chernihiv region.
Border with Belarus: The State Border Service of Ukraine (SBSU) has officially assured that the situation on the northern borders is fully under control. No activities or creation of offensive groups from Belarus have been recorded so far, but engineering barriers continue to be strengthened.
Court chronicle: The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the former deputy head of the Kirovohrad region prosecutor’s office, who is suspected of corruption.
